BOB Locum Chambers

The BOB locum chambers was created by OTH in association with the National Association of Sessional GPs (NASGP) to be a “home” for locum GPs. The platform will facilitate administrative tasks and enable Locums to connect more easily with one another. By forming new Local Chambers Groups, they will be able to access online resources and discover opportunities for peer support.

The platform also has an Instant Book system, which allows locums to show their availability to practices, and for practices to book locums for sessions. All locum credentials and training can be seen by the practice through the platform, to assure them that the locum is the correct GP for the job.

Primary Care Placements

Giving more students the experience of a placement in General practice is vital if we are going to encourage newly qualified health care professionals to choose careers in primary care.

We are always looking for more enthusiastic practices who are interested in offering a placement to a pre-qualified, trainee or qualified student nurse, pharmacist, or paramedics.

Having students in the practice can bring many benefits including promoting a learning culture among the whole practice team and students can contribute to a wide range of clinical activities.

Contact us to find out more about how we can support you to become a OTH placement practice.

Apprenticeships offer an exciting opportunity to help employers recruit and develop new staff and support the development and progression of existing staff.

Since the introduction of the new Apprenticeship Levy in April 2017, apprenticeships have been undergoing an overhaul and we are now seeing qualifications such as the Registered Nurse Degree being converted into apprenticeships. Smaller employers (those who pay less than £3 million per annum in staff salaries) will be able to use Government funding to fund up to 90% of the costs of these apprenticeships and larger employers will be able to use their Apprenticeship Levy funds.

A useful video that covers Health Care Assistant apprenticeships is below.
